the upper is made from recycled materials and without the use of animal-derived leathers. water repellency treatments are pfas-free as is the waterproof gore-tex lining made of epe. the two wedge densities and the tread are co-molded to reduce the use of adhesives.

the eva used is partially bio-based. the tread is partially recycled rubber and asymmetrically patterned in sync with the aku elica natural stride system that promotes biodynamic efficiency. the inside of the forefoot has an increased plug density to promote grip on e-bike pedals.
